Perbincangan

Wakil pihak perempuan dan banji :)
Yesterday as I had posted, was the day I went for the first time, discussing the engagement of my dear brother DaPocket.. in other word - “meminang”. I still think the word “meminang” best describes the whole process.

Well it was like Hari Raya all over again, waking up very early in the morning all excited and busy. At 9am, everyone was ready.. (sort of). And we departed from our house at 9.30am. Everything looked good

Alhamdulillah, everything did go fine without any problem. I was rehearsing what I’m supposed to say in the car. I repeated it so many times, the mrs started to feel dizzy :) I had to stop then.

We reached there in Sungai Dua exactly at 11 am, and were welcomed by the elder brother of DaPocket’s soon-to-be-fiance. He was her “Wali”.

When everyone’s seated, I started the whole script I just memorized :) As I have previously promised.. this is basically the script used

“Assalamualaikum, Biar saya perkenalankan diri saya..

Sekian”

/end script

Funny how everything is actually the best at its simplest :)

In short, everything went well and DaPocket is now engaged heheh Congratulation bro!

p.s. Sorry some pictures can’t be shown as it involved someone else’s privacy :) Happy Weekend everyone!

Yesterday was AidilAdha :). However the highlight of these few days will be today, Saturday. I’m going to represent my brother, DaPocket, and discuss his engagement details. In other words, I’m going to go for “meminang”.

At 9.30 am, we will start our journey to Sungai Dua, Penang and should reach there by 11 am. This will be my first time and to tell you the truth, I’m quite nervous. Not that I don’t know what to say, it’s more about it being my first time.

InsyaAllah I will post the pictures here the following days (I need to assign the person in charge), Again sorry for personal entries these few days… :) Such an exciting time (nervously exciting)

Wish me luck!!

The Crime Scene

Summary - Feeling betrayed

My raya mood is spoilt by today’s incident. An incident of betrayal. At least I feel like being betrayed. It happened last Thursday. Some of the palm oil produced by my mill was stolen. I was informed about it on Saturday.

The culprit was unknown. But I could see footsteps with some oil traces along the way until the fence of the mill compound. And there were footsteps on the other side of the fence indicating that this was a two person job.

I am then unofficially promoted to be the CSI of the mill, examining the crime scene and interviewing the witness. Luckily I watched CSI. :)

Today my investigation is complete and the result really spoils everything. There are two prime suspects to the crime, a supervisor and a lab sampler. A few people saw them behaving srangely on the day. To spare you from all the confusing details, the supervisor was seen to drive the shovel transfering the oil and park very near to the crime scene. Normally, the work of transfering oil should be done during the daytime and not 4am in the morning. The lab sampler was also seen at the place.

This is what I meant by feeling betrayed. I am actually a friend to these two. Chatting during breakfast and laughing at each other’s joke. If it is true that they were the culprit (Innocent until proven guilty), I felt like they were actually taking advantage of my friendship with them. One thing I hate most is when people take advantage of other people. Seriously I hate that attitude.

Nevertheless, I haven’t called them up to explain. There is still no prove that they actually did it. I actually had made a plan with 2 workers that I can trust. One will be observing the two’s behavior and if he sees the shovel being parked at strange place, he will immediately call me. And we will try to catch the culprit red handed. I’m very sure that the stealing will stop for a couple of week until everyone forget about the incident. But I intent to catch them in the act, so i’ll wait

- I wonder -
Have you ever had the same feeling as mine? Feeling betrayed?

———– Personal Note ————–
Unfortunately I can’t pursue the investigation because I am now on leave. Today at 1 pm I will start my journey back to Kedah for the Hari Raya.. (Suddenly my raya mood kicks in.. excitedly happy again hehe)

Please pray for my safe journey

Summary - Find that joy and excitement

Aidil Adha is approaching. InsyaAllah it will be celebrated here in Malaysia on the 20th of December. Aren’t you excited? :)

How many of us are actually excited about it? Counting down the days.. or planning what to do on that day.. I’m quite sure that the answer is just not many.

I wonder why? Why can’t we be excited on the day we are actually supposed to be excited? One reason I can think of, is that we had outgrown the celebration..

During our childhood, Hari Raya is always our happiest day. There’s so much to do, with new clothes, firecrackers, the “Duit raya” etc. Now that we are older (ehem to DaPocket), all those things that excite us no longer have any effect.

New clothes might have some effect but if we are short of cash, buying new clothes is just out of the question. firecrackers are now just for the kids, and adults going around asking for “Duit raya” is frown upon in some culture :)

It is true that we had ourgrown the excitement from all those things. It is unavoidable. This is where we can go wrong, Never leave it like that. We now need to find another way to enjoy our Hari Raya.

If previously we are happy wearing the new clothes, now find that joy in seeing our children wearing new clothes, Walking around handsomely/beautifully like a model, smiling all the way. If that doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know what will :)

Again.. We have to look for the excitement. It will never come looking for you. An example to illustrate is a husband and a wife. One day they will feel like there’s no spark in their love life. They are so used to each other, they didn’t feel the passion and heat like when they first in love. Do you think they should just let it be? or start having affair? Of course not.. They should find out how to heat up their relationship, maybe a second romantic honeymoon
or a simple rose by the bed :)

- I wonder -
How do you enjoy your hari raya? Maybe you can share it here…

———— Personal Note —————–
Today I will be going back to Bangi after work, My living-like-a-bachelor day is over. And starting from tomorrow until 25th, I will be on leave (from work.. not from blogging hehe)

What I love most about Hari Raya is when I am able to get together with my two brothers, the mama and the maktuk :) that is all I need for my Hari Raya
