Summary - 4 Steps To Do When Attacked by Pervert..

Talking about hobby, mine is martial art :).. I have been quite obsessed with it since I’m still a kid. In today’s entry I would like to dedicate it especially to all women reading. It is on a simple way to defend yourself if attacked by rapist or pervert. I come up with the tips myself so I’m very sure it can be improved or corrected.. so please do

1) Never give up
Most woman fight with everything they had when attacked by rapist or pervert. Please do.. But psychologically, the attacker is expecting you to fight and so he will try to break your spirit first. The harder you fight, the more violent he will become with the slapping, punching and kicking.

2) Pretend to be weak
My advice is fight if you must. But if you find out he is way too strong, PRETEND that you’ve given up. Look as if you’re now submissive to him, as if you’re going to do what he wants. I know it’s hard to do when his hand is all over your body, but you can’t fight him when he’s expecting you to fight.

So when he sees you weak and obedient, slowly his guard will go down. He is now focussing on how to satisfy his lust. You will know that his guard is down when he is now looking at your body instead of your eyes, maybe he will slowly releasing his grip on your hand. Now this is a very crucial moment….

3) Keep your mind focussing on one thing - Escape
This is the most difficult part. We can talk all we want, but when it happens.. we will be so afraid, nothing comes to mind. That is why you must keep reminding yourself of one goal - ESCAPE. Forget about his face, or revenge. Casually look around, and ask this ONE question.. where should you run to? All other question can wait

You are probably hurt (after being punched or slapped), you are terrified, and suddenly you feel like there’s nothing you can do. I say that this is the hardest part, because you will now has to summon your whole energy. both the mind and the body despite the pain and the hopelessness to do the next step - The All-Out Double Attack

4) The All-Out Double Attack
There are so many ways to strike, but there’s no point of remembering all of them. You just need to remember this - The All-Out Double Attack.

The first attack is aimed to cause pain to the attacker and distract him for one second. (Remember - only ONE second, so you have strike fast and immediately do number 2). First attack is to hurt his eye. Use your thumb and stab one of his eye as hard as possible. Kicking the rapist’s sensitive area will usually stop him completely, but he is expecting that, and being a sensitive area, naturally he will block any attempt to hurt it. But the eye, is easily reached, make it look like you’re caressing his cheeks and then strike.

Ok, now that is the first attack, remember… the aim is just to distract him, you can’t paralyze him with that attack, So immediately after you strike the eye, use both leg to kick him away from you with all your might. This is the second attack. And without delay, get up and run… Run Forrest!! Run!!

Just imagine, if you use up all your energy fighting him in the beginning, you will depleted all your energy and possibly trip when escaping.

/end

I know, there’s a lot of other way to handle this situation, feel free to add in ideas and tips. I can elaborate the steps in lots of way, but that will only complicate things. And during emergency like this you only need to remember 4 things : Never give up, how to escape, the eye and the kick… That’s it

—————- Personal Note —————-
I’m not in any way saying that I’m an expert, but I have been in martial art studies for more that 13 years. So rest assured, that I’m not making this up and that this is one of the most practical way to escape. But still, I appreciate any feedback or question to make us better prepared.I seriously think that this post is very important, so I will NOT be posting new entry tomorrow (1/12) hoping that I can share this with all my friends.

If you think the entry will benefit your friends, please link the entry in your blog. if and only if you think this is a must read..

emergency

Summary - Emergency Preparation

Yesterday, I was approached by one of my mill’s staff and he wanted to borrow some money. When I asked, he told me that he was robbed after giving a lift to one stranger. He now had to borrow money and had to go through a lot of trouble for the missing document; IC, driving license etc. So guys… be careful with strangers. It’s not safe anymore

A bit alarmed, today I come up with a set of things to do on how to prepare for such emergency. InsyaAllah I will do all the items on the list, and maybe you can help by adding some more useful ideas in.

1) In case my handphone stolen

  • To always have spare coins (RM2 worth of coins) in the wallet specifically for the public phone. The last time I used a public phone was few years ago.. hehe
  • To print a list of important telephone number and keep it in the wallet. How many of us actually remember phone number anymore, right?
  • In the list there will phone number to Digi Call Center (I’m using Digi), so that I can call and bar outgoing call from my phone.

2) In case I fainted in public

  • To prepare a RED laminated card with information such as name, contact details of family in case of emergency, medical record / allergy (if you need people to know)
  • Reminder : Never give out your home address, if you fainted and bad people have your address and house key, there’s no telling what will happen
  • In my handphone’s phonebook, I will set the first name to be my wife, But instead of entering the name, I will put it as “WIFE”. Then if the person (who is hopefully not a handphone thief of course) check through, he will immediately know who to call.
  • I’m going to use the Friend Finder service by Digi. (Now I feel like this is an advertisement for Digi eheh). For those who is not familiar, with this service, my wife will be able to know roughly where I am, or where my handphone is. again.. ROUGHLY hehe. At least she will know I’m in 5 km radius of the transmitting station :) Hey it’s better than trying to find me all over Negeri Sembilan right?

3) In case my wallet stolen / lost

  • Beforehand, I will have all my cards and documents inside my wallet to be copied into 2 copies(Fotostat). One will be left at home, another inside my car.
  • Keep some money, RM5- RM10 with the copy of documents in my car
  • Keep track of what actually inside the wallet. What if I forget of my credit card, and forget to report the lost to the bank, things can get messy.
  • Reminder : Change your pin number. People with stolen wallet will first attempt to withdraw money from ATM using your birthdate as pin number. Please don’t use your DOB as pin number.

/end list

These are all what I can come up within 30 minutes. A quick brainstorm… I’m very sure, you guys can help add some more important items to the list. Maybe for another emergency? :)

—————– Personal Nore —————-
I’ve always very interested in coming up with such preparation. Call it a hobby if you want. But, I like it when in case of emergency, I am well aware of what need to be done. Even though I may not be able to remember and do all, at least.. I know 1 or 2 items

Tomorrow, I’m going to publish an interesting article from Ms Azuwachan. And guess what, there is one word in today’s entry which will describe the entry. And the first person who can guess the keyword will win a link to his/her blog in the post :)

The rules
- Azuwachan is not entitled to participate
- She also must avoid from giving hint to fellow friends directly or indirectly of the answer :)
- One person can only guess one answer
- Dateline 12.01 am 29th November
- The answer and the winner will made known in the entry on Friday.

So guys.. let’s hear your guess, azuwachan - shhh

Summary - 4 Decluttering Categories

If you google the word “declutter”, I’m sure you will be surprised at how many tips there are in the world. Well there are going to be an additional one today.

Declutter is basically when you clear your table. Imagine your room.. you have a bed full of cloth on it, a computer desk with food and some magazine. a side table with everything.. you can’t even see what color is the table. Imagine now… your room has only a bed, computer desk and the side table. Wouldn’t it be more relaxing?

The tips described are based on my experience and of my personal opinion. There are only 4 categories - Being Used, Useful, Beautiful, Etc.

Now check every items in your room… even that small paperclips and categorize them

1) Being used

  • These are items that you used almost everyday. Computer, books and pillow fall under this category. Bear in mind, that items that has not been used for more than 2 days is not to be put under this category.
  • Items under category “Being Used” must be made available and accessible at all time. Meaning, you should be able to see them at all times. So put them back in a proper place.

2) Useful

  • These are items that you seldom used but they are useful nonetheless. Typical examples are like radio, nail clipper, handphone charger etc.
  • All items under this category must be hidden. They must be put in a box or a place but it must be hidden. One thing about hiding a useful item is we must always know where to find it when we really need it. So make sure all boxes are properly labelled and hidden in a known area. Remember the keywords are hidden but accessible. :)

3) Beautiful

  • Beautiful items are meant to be seen. But too much of them will just make it ugly. For example you have 100 photo frames. If you put it out, then there will be no place for everything else. So for beautiful items… there are only two keywords to follow - Minimal and rotation! Rotate your items. For example, just put one frame on the computer desk (minimizing), and another on the side table. Hide the other 98 frames in a box. Tomorrow, take out two frames and replace the one on the computer desk and side table.. Now simplicity is beautiful don’t you think?

4) Etc

  • Everything else… I mean everything else is etc. Throw them away, or if the items had some sentimental value, take digital picture of them. Then just throw them away. Old novel can be given to friends, Old clothes can be donated etc.

Do you see any problem with the categories? Something I might have missed? Do tell and let’s patch the hole together..

Now this is Decluttering Tips #1 :)

———– Personal Note ————-
Decluttering is never about cleaning up. It is more on simplifying life. By doing so.. we will immediately know what is important in life. A quick exercise - declutter your desktop screen… :)

Eh I’m supposed to write personal stuff here. Well the wallpaper I’m using is of last year’s Aidilfitri. The first Raya with the mrs in the family. Next year there will be another new member in the family, eh two new member in the family :)

more work

Summary -  The more we work, the more work we found

Wow.. 2 days of maintenance.. And still so much work to do. I have great plans for this blog. However unlike other pro-blogger, they dedicated all their time to blogging. I unfortunately still have a long way to go.

Isn’t it weird sometimes, when the more we work on a thing, the more work we found need to be done. For example, we were to service a car.. It should be a simple oil change, but when checked.. we found out that the tyre has already worn out, the balancing and allignment is all out.

Is the problem not there in the first place? of course no… the problem was definitely there before we want to do the servicing. But they were only detected after we do proper check.

So what should we do? Unfortunately… most people prefer to just ignore the problem by not going to do the servicing at all. This way, they feel like there is no problem with the car and everything will be ok. This is a typical reply - “Buat apa check kereta, nanti mesti jumpa banyak problem.. duit lagi”.. don’t you agree this is our Malaysian attitude?

Now.. is that even safe? logically, the problem will not disappear just because we choose to ignore it, that’s why the problem will worsen at the most critical time, and maybe.. I repeat maybe, that’s why we have so many accident case here in Malaysia

So what actually we should do? These are some ways that I think may help.

  • Regular check must be scheduled. This is a must. Any problem arises must be jotted down and schedule the repair for that arising problem in other time
  • Always prepare our mind to do a bit extra in anything we do, For example, servicing the car might only cause RM50, So prepare RM100 in hand everytime we service the car, should there is any extra repair.
  • That money, if not used, must be put into a “tabung” specifically for car maintenance.
  • Anything.. if seen in its big picture, will look big. So try to see it in pieces. For examples, the car has 12 problems. Maybe we can do one problem per month. Of course the most critical one first. It will not look difficult right?
  • Plan ahead. Problem is often feel very heavy when you suddenly encounter it. Suddenly the foreman tell you that your car is going to explode in 2 weeks if your do not do the repair. Of course you will feel the burden. By planning ahead, you know exactly what to do and what to expect
  • Knowledge knowledge knowledge… Your car may just have some wiring problem, but you change the whole lightbulb just because the foreman told you so. That is not very wise

The list is based on the example of a car. But truthfully, any problem and work is the same. The more work we do, the more work we usually found need to be done, Typical examples are like, studying (the more we study, the more we don’t know), getting to know your fiance (the more you try to figure him/her out, the more you feel clueless) etc. So try to adapt the list into other problems in hand.

Any other ways we can change that Elephant-sized problem to Mouse-sized problem?

—————- Personal Note ————-
My flu has still not recovered. It’s already two days. I guess it started when I have to dive into the river that day to check on a pipe. Heheh it was fun. Getting paid just to “Mandi Sungai” but the river is not that clear, it is more like a “Teh Tarik” sort of river.

I wonder whether there are any job that pay us RM10k for “mandi sungai”? :)
