Today in the newspaper, people are talking about what they are doing to help mother nature. People are pledging this and that. This is a very good development since it shows that people are more concern about the nature. So today’s post will be dedicated to nature. I’m not going to venture on the problem nature is facing and how to overcome it. Instead I’m going to list down what I have done in the name of nature and three pledges to do starting today.

What I have done for nature

  • I recycled newspaper. Total earning from newspaper recycling up to date is around RM40 🙂
  • At work, I collected used paper to be reused when I want to draft something
  • Unless really needed, I told the shop owner or cashier not to give me plastic bag.
  • I avoid myself from buying take away food (tapau) in those polystyrene. Do you know that those polystyrene takes up to hundred years to decompose.
  • I only throw rubbish in the trash can. Even in my car, I forbid anyone trying to throw the rubbish outside. That’s why my car is slowly turning into a portable trash can hehe

* Erk, I thought I am doing OK but it turns out only I only did five items for nature. But I can proudly say that I have been doing these five items continuously for the last 7-8 years. It has became sort of a habit to me. However I need to do more

Three Items I pledge to do immediately

  • Start learning to read newspaper online. This will reduce drastically newspaper to be recycled. I used to do this once, but fall asleep on the keyboard 🙂
  • Use my motorcycle just to go to and fro to my mill. Once there, I will be walking only. At least it’s a good exercise.
  • Conciously reduce my electril bill to 80% (Where’s the damn bill for god’s sake?)

Do share with me your have-done and pledge for nature.

Whether we like it or not, the world is dying. We can’t stop that. Our last hope is to preserve what’s left of it and hopefully prolong its death. Every little things will count in the end. Imagine every cell in our body suddenly say “I’m not important, banji will still be alive even if I’m not doing my function.” I’m dead.

You see, the chances of people saying “I don’t need to do that, other people is doing it” is more likely than “Let’s do that”. If that’s so, we’re screwed man

So how do you feel when today’s your birthday? Happy? teenagers will definitely be happy, with all the parties and gift. However when we are older, ehem, more mature with age, the definition of birthday changed drastically.

Some may think of it as a celebration of life, honouring every experience we had gone through (first love, heart broken and career advancement etc) and expecting the best from those yet to come.

Another prefer to think that we are that much closer to our end. It is the time to reevaluate all goals still not achieved, dreams and sometime the meaning of life.

There are so many ways to go through one’s birthday. You can be depressed about it, You can choose to ignore it entirely. Some may react with a total change of lifestyle. The popular term for this is “midlife crisis”. Typical examples are like suddenly buy an expensive car, or started to dress strangely etc.

In my opinion, there is no right or wrong on how you celebrate your birthday. You can be happy or depressed. It’s entirely up to you. The ultimate fact will still be that we are getting older with every seconds passing by (happy or depressed). So how ever it is you react, just consider what good will that reaction be for you. For example:

  • If reevaluation of life’s goal will be beneficial, do that.
  • If being depressed will only make you sad, stop immediately (however emotional you are).

We can be emotional, that’s just human but not to the expense we stop living the life we have now and be thankful for it.

Today is a special day. 6th June is my wife’s birthday. Unfortunately she is now at her parent’s home taking care of her elder sister, who just delivered a baby one week ago. Believe me, taking care of her other three children is not an easy job. The children, being children, are always going all out to make their “Makngah” scream every 2 minutes or so. By the time I call her over the phone, she has no voice already heheh. Be strong dear, and know that I will always be there supporting you (100km behind you that is :p ) and oh ya HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

friendship

I laughed out loud when I first saw this cartoon. The face expression for the hippo and the cow is priceless, with the rhino looked annoyed and the cow looked satisfied eheh

The moral of the cartoon is self explanatory, but what I’m trying to highlight is just the importance of choosing a friend. I believe that we have to be very selfish when it comes to choosing friends. There are millions of people around the globe, Millions! We can’t be friend to all of them now, can we? So how do i choose my friends?

  • Support me when I’m down
  • Smile for me when I’m up there

You turn to your family for unconditional love. You turn to your spouse for companionship and support. Imagine having 10-20 people who cares for you sincerely (love), accompany you when you needed them the most, for example when you are crying at your mother’s funeral (companionship) and offering help when you hit rock bottom (support). Now those are your true friends Please appreciate them with the same manner they appreciated you. You’ll do fine.

So how do you choose your friends? Do share 🙂

I actually lost contact with one of my best friend. His name is Nur Syikri Harun. Anybody know him, do let me know. After SPM he continue his study in Mesir and that’s when we started lost contact. During our schooling, just as every normal kids with raging hormons, we started flirting with girls hehe. Must be very traumatic for them, I mean the girls. In short, Syikri had a crush on one girl, and I had helped him approach the girl. Back then I was a cupid haha. The last thing I heard about Syikri is that he actually married the same girl. He sure owe me big time.

CEO

“HAHAHA I am the CEO of this company!!! I have ultimate power on my low level worker…I’m the most important person in this company, and without me… the company will go down the drain”.

Have you ever met anyone so arrogant being the boss or working in high position in a company. Well I have… Not my current manager obviously. It occured to me. Comparing the CEO of a company and the general cleaners of the company, who would be more important? The answer to this is simply by having them take a month off.

If the CEO of the company take a month off from working, can the company manage to survive and operate normally. I believe it can because there are so many people willing to take control the CEO’s power and do his work.

If the general cleaners of the company (any company) take a month off, what do you think will happen to the company? Rubbish left uncleared, stale fried rice still left at the waste basket, the toilet is unbelievably smelly. Can everyone do their work efficiently? Is there any people willing to do the cleaner’s job? I can guarantee you that they can’t even stand one week

So any of you guys have experience the no cleaner scenario? or no CEO scenario. Do share. let’s decide… who’s more important?

Again I appreciated all of you who frequent this humble blog. I admit, I’m not much of a designer. I guess it’s genetic. When I was a child, 5 to 6 years old, my parents did send me to a drawing class. The class is actually for Form 5 students. Did I tell you the art teacher is a friend of my parents. So we were supposed to draw some vegetables. Everyone was given one. When the class is over, everyone finished their work except for me. I am so into the details that I even draw every hairline and leaves exactly like it is. Spending all that time and still not a good piece. I persuaded my parents to give me other hobby to start 🙂 Good ol times
