Alhamdulillah, the blogger visit at Darul Izzah Orphanage is successful. This is my story.

The Memes compiled. Kudos to all contributed πŸ™‚

The event started off with games. The boys were put into groups of five. And the first game is to break other group’s balloon attached to their feet. A lot of strategy involved, one of which they tied the balloon way at the knee. Very hard to break that one πŸ™‚

Mr Idham himself conducting the games. This is before Amy taken over. She is very good in this game thing.

Finishing up the puzzle, all rules go out the window with this one hehe

This is my group. Group “White”. We actually won the building the pyramid game.

Merdeka game – each group have to recreate the Tugu Negara with only newspaper and salotape. Then they each have to pose just like the statue. Seriously very creative children. We even had soldiers that look like Fasha Sandha πŸ™‚

all of us sit down on the floor, eating lunch like one big family. We were having sambal udang, fried chicken and mixed vege. yum yum

Mr Idham presenting the compilation of memes done and a * donationΒ of RM27178 to the Darul Izah representative

After Solat Zohor, we performed the Yasin recital and tahlil. This is a picture of us, bloggers taken from Mr Idham’s blog. The names are intentionally omitted as per request

There’s definitely not much picture here, as I am just as busy as the children hehhe. However you can check out Mr Idham’s blog for more “clear” picture and full event.

Like I’ve mentioned before, it is not my intention to show that I am more noble with all this. I’m just a man who have nothing but his blog to promote this. Hopefully we can all do our small part of giving in our life. Cheers πŸ™‚

Summary – Charity is never about money

Today is the day. The charity at Darul Izzah Orphanage. It will be from 10.30am to 1pm. Again, if you can make it, let’s..

So why am I so excited about the event.

1) This is my first charity I joined. I have been on the receiving end for a long time already. I believe it is about time that I be on the giving end instead. I cannot offer a lot of money to these poor children, What I can do is to go there and help out the event. So that everyone will be as comfortable as possible, so that the children will be happy for at least today(I am quite good with children hehehe),

2) In Islam, You get “pahala” just by touching the orphan on the head, in other word, by giving a pat on the shoulder, or by any means to show that you care for them. Imagine, just by mere caring you will be appreciated by Him, what if you lighten up their day. I am not in any way looking for ways to get “pahala”. But, if Allah love the act, it must be something good, right?

3) In addition to all that, I will be able to get to make new friends. Strangers that actually connected via keyboard and monitor. Why? Don’t I have enough friends? No… I like to smile at people and have them smile at me back. πŸ™‚

(Yerp like what you are doing there… πŸ™‚ )

The point of this post…

  • I am not trying to show off that I am a very noble person when I go tocharity. I highlighted it in this blog so many time to encourage other people joining in. One of the many small things I do to help out.
  • Charity does not mean you will have to gather 100 friends, giving out money, etc… As long as you touch somebody else’s life, in any way… you will be appreciated (by HIM)
  • So let’s be a better person. You and more importantly me. (A self advising post)

Summary – Trust is a must in working, but need to evaluate once in a while

Yesterday I learnt a valuable lesson from my day’s job. Sharing here, maybe you guys have better advice for me.

THE ITEMS INVOLVED
The mill has two pumps. In every pump there are two parts, let us named them part A and part B,

THE MISTAKE
One of my staff told me that the two pumps are under repair. Apparently Pump 1 had a faulty part A, and pump 2 had a faulty part B. So both cannot run.

I believe the staff. Solution would be simple. Dismantle both pump and use part A and B which is still in good condition in one pump. So technically I will then have one running pump and one faulty pump.

So I sent my foreman to go there and do that. The foreman came back and say that the information is wrong.

There are two pumps, but pump 1 is still in good condition. Pump 2 is not (both the faulty part A and B is from pump 2)

THE RESULT
A bit embarassed that I sent people to repair without knowing exactly what’s the problem. The staff is called and I later learn that he may misunderstand the whole problem.

THE EXCUSE
1) I am actually very busy for the past one week. Don’t have time to check everything myself.

2) It will be not efficient for me to do everything. I’m delegating task, and in order to do that, I will need to trust my staff

THE LESSON LEARNT
1) I have to recheck my staff credibility from time to time. Cannot just trust them entirely

2) My staff need to know that I’m checking on them. That way, they will think twice before giving me wrong information. It is always better to admit not knowing, than to lie

Do you think the lesson learnt is accurate? Or do you have any other advice for me (and for other friends reading this)?

————— Personal Note ————————–
Mistake happen all the time in any job, As long as lesson learnt it should be ok.I am currently back in KL for the charity tomorrow. So I am posting this entry from my phone. Please excuse all typo and allignment error. They will be sorted out.
