Summary – Charity is never about money

Today is the day. The charity at Darul Izzah Orphanage. It will be from 10.30am to 1pm. Again, if you can make it, let’s..

So why am I so excited about the event.

1) This is my first charity I joined. I have been on the receiving end for a long time already. I believe it is about time that I be on the giving end instead. I cannot offer a lot of money to these poor children, What I can do is to go there and help out the event. So that everyone will be as comfortable as possible, so that the children will be happy for at least today(I am quite good with children hehehe),

2) In Islam, You get “pahala” just by touching the orphan on the head, in other word, by giving a pat on the shoulder, or by any means to show that you care for them. Imagine, just by mere caring you will be appreciated by Him, what if you lighten up their day. I am not in any way looking for ways to get “pahala”. But, if Allah love the act, it must be something good, right?

3) In addition to all that, I will be able to get to make new friends. Strangers that actually connected via keyboard and monitor. Why? Don’t I have enough friends? No… I like to smile at people and have them smile at me back. 🙂

The point of this post…

• I am not trying to show off that I am a very noble person when I go tocharity. I highlighted it in this blog so many time to encourage other people joining in. One of the many small things I do to help out.

• Charity does not mean you will have to gather 100 friends, giving out money, etc… As long as you touch somebody else’s life, in any way… you will be appreciated (by HIM)

• So let’s be a better person. You and more importantly me. (A self advising post)

Some of the major updates are as follows

• A total amount of RM27178 will be handed during the ceremony.
• There will be NO games, sukaneka, treasure hunt etc. Instead lunch and Yassin recital will take place
• I am confirmed going, already applied leave :)… Really hope to meet you guys there. For those without transport, I will gladly take you there from Bangi Komuter Station.

I’m terribly sorry for not updating yesterday. A major breakdown occured at the mill, and safe to say, I didn’t even have time to sit. To make things worse, the internet connection today is horrible. I’ll call Digi first thing tomorrow. How’s the life at your end? in other word… How’s everyone? 🙂

As you can see from my entries… it is always my intention to try to make a difference to our society by learning from each other. So I humbly requested, if you think that the blog or any entry in it will benefit others (maybe friends or family), please help introducing it to them. I’m not going to be any richer, and I’m not interested to be popular. I just hope we will not repeat the same mistake and maybe be a bit better with every passing day. Amiin….

They say, blogging should be anonymous, (Who’s them? I don’t know.. I just make it up). Anyway, I believe it depends on the actual purpose of your blogging, if you want to blog about sensitive things, you might as well keep your identity hidden. As for me, my main reason to blog is to share my thoughts and find new friends in the process. And as we know, friends should know each other, at least at some basic level. So this entry is dedicated to introduce myself to all of you. And if there is any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Why banji?
My name is Mohamad Zaki. Banji is actually what my family and friends been calling me. Apparently when I started talking I seemed to refer to myself with that name. It started with Bang Ji and later shorten to banji.

Fact and Figures?
Born on chrismas 1977 in Kedah, I am the eldest of three. My younger brothers are introduced previously by the blognick pocket and filantera. Married to a wonderful woman on August 2006. Blessed by a princess born on May 2008. That should cover the facts. About figure… I have no figure hehe, the weight is steadily increasing though

How about education?
Well, it started off quite beautifully with me going to religious school i.e. Maktab Mahmud in Alor Setar and KISAS in Klang. But since I’m more inclined to engineering, I decided to take my A Level in PPP UiTM (Shah Alam). However due to the recession, they can’t send us oversea. I was however offered a place in UTP in Tronoh. It was there I graduated in Chemical Engineering. Even though I’ doing engineering, I am still passionate on learning other subjects, psychology, Islam, culture and thus this blog.

Career Wise?
A lot of part time job, which I’m not going into detail. Currently I am working in a palm oil mill in Sabah. This is my third posting. Previously I was in Bahau Negeri Sembilan and before that in Kluang Johor. As you may already know, the mill will extract oil and kernel from the fruit, So my main job is actually to optimize the efficiency of the process among other things such as maintenance and administration.

If any of you would want to know better, feel free to drop by. I will gladly give you a grand tour.

Interest?
Hm I define interest as things we would do gladly anytime of the day. So my primary interest would be on internet. I can spend hours stuck like a glue surfing new sites, reading through blogs. It may sound so cliche but I really like to learn new stuff over the internet. I did learn HTML and Javascript totally from the net, quite proud of it also huhu.

My secondary interest would be martial art. These days, martial arts are more towards the maintenance of health both physically and mentally. Still, I believe people who learn how to self defence had better chance of surviving an attack be it robbery or harassment.
